Computer classes: February 2013

LO Computer Learning Center

  • Shopping & Selling Using Craigslist and Freecycle — Friday, Feb. 8, 1-2:30 p.m., $10 members, $15 non-members.

  • Travel Photography — Wednesdays, Feb. 13 and 20, 9-10:30 a.m., $16 members, $24 non-members.

    n Introduction to Facebook — Fridays, Feb. 22 and March 1, 3-4:30 p.m., $16 members, $24 non-members.

    n How to Use Files & Folders on the PC — Friday, March 1, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., $16 members, $24 non-members.

  • Windows Secrets — Fridays, Feb. 1, 8, and 15, 3-4:30 p.m., $22 members, $33 non-members.

  • MAC Internet — Friday, Feb. 8, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., $10 members, $15 non-members.

    Meet the Computer

    Never tried a computer before? In this two-session course, you will meet the computer, the keyboard and the mouse, learn what they are and how to use them. No experience is necessary for you to take this relaxed, fun class.

    Offered by OASIS Connections, a national organization devoted to lifelong learning for adults over 50, this is an excellent class to take before Introduction to Computers (see below).

    Meet the Computer will be offered at:

    n The Belmont Library, 1038 S.E. 39th Ave. (503-988-5382) Wednesdays, Feb. 20 and 27, 9-11 a.m.

    Introduction to Computers

    In this six-session course, you will learn all the basic computer skills including using the mouse and keyboard, working in Microsoft Windows, using Microsoft Word, surfing the Internet and using email. This course is ideal for someone who has a little experience with the computer but wants to know more.

    Introduction to Computers will be offered at the Sellwood-Moreland Library, 7860 S.E. 13th Ave. (503-988-5398) Wednesdays, Feb. 6-27, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
