Aloha woman dies in single-vehicle crash
An Aloha woman was killed Sunday in a single-vehicle crash on Northwest Bacona Road after the vehicle she was in apparently left the roadway and crashed. Three other passengers were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Washington County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a crash in the 3000 block of Northwest Bacona Road around 5:40 p.m. on Sunday and discovered Tamera Verley, 49, deceased at the scene.
Deputies made a preliminary determination that the driver lost control on the windy gravel road and the car traveled over an embankment, ejecting Verley from the vehicle, said Sgt. David Thompson, sheriff's office spokesman. Three other passengers - Stephaine Roso, 25, Kylie Bellar, 20, and Noah Barker, 21 - all suffered serious injuries and were transported to Legacy Emanuel Health Center.
The Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team is continuing the investigation, but did not release further details, including the driver's name. No criminal charges have been filed at this point.
