Sewage spill closes section of Fanno Creek Trail

A section of Fanno Creek Trail was closed Friday evening after a sewage spill was discovered near Southwest 79th Avenue and Garden Home Road.
The sewage spill was discovered along the trail at about 7:15 p.m. Sewage was spilling at about five gallons a minute and streaming along the trail. No sewage has flowed into Fanno Creek.
Portland Bureau of Environmental Services crews are trying to determine the cause of the leak, which could be coming from a pressure main malfunction.
