Washington County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a possible connection between the armed robbery of a 7-11 store on Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway on Saturday and an earlier robbery of a Chevron gas station in North Plains.

Deputies are searching for a suspect who entered the 7-11 at 7170 S.W. Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway in Raleigh Hills on Saturday, Nov. 17, around 1 p.m. The store clerk said the suspect — described as a black male about 6-feet tall wearing a black ski mask, black sweatshirt, black pants and shoes — entered the store, jumped over the counter and threatened her with a pistol. She was able to activate an alarm, which sent the suspect running out of the store. The clerk was not hurt during the robbery.

Deputies investigating the robbery believe the suspect jumped into a black BMW four-door sedan that appeared to be waiting for him. Investigators aren’t sure how many occupants were in the vehicle.

Video from the store’s surveillance system revealed the suspect was carrying a small silver semi-automatic pistol.

Earlier on Saturday, around 2 a.m., two men whose faces were covered robbed a Chevron gas station in North Plains. Sheriff’s office detectives are working with the North Plains Police Department to determine if the two robberies are related.

Anyone with information related to these robberies is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 503- 629-0111 to report information.
