A 52-year-old Beaverton woman died of injuries she suffered after being struck by a vehicle on Nov. 28, Beaverton police learned Monday.

Sharon Moran was struck by a southbound vehicle traveling along Southwest Murray Boulevard as it was turning southbound at the Millikan Way intersection.

Moran, who was wearing dark clothing that night, was reportedly walking toward the pedestrian island in the middle of the intersection when she was struck.

Beaverton police responded to the scene shortly before 6:40 p.m. to find the seriously injured woman lying in the roadway.

Moran was transported to an area hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries Monday night.

The driver of the vehicle cooperated with police during the investigation.

"It does not look like there will be any criminal charges at this time," said Officer Mike Rowe, Beaverton police spokesman.

Alcohol did not appear to be a factor in this crash, he added.

This tragedy serves as a reminder for motorists and pedestrians to pay extra attention while traveling at night, Rowe said. Police recommend that pedestrians wear bright or reflective clothing at night.
