Update: Pedestrian identified, investigation continues

A woman died early Tuesday morning when she was struck by a box truck at Southwest Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and Shattuck Road.

Police have identified her as Mara Rosanne Forsythe-Crane, 27, of Southwest Portland.

According to police, Forsythe-Crane was struck and killed by at about 6:27 a.m. Investigators determined that she was crossing Southwest Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway in the western crosswalk with the "walk" signal.

The truck, Michal Robert Albino , 42, of Southwest Portland, was traveling northbound on Shattuck Road and turned right (westbound), striking Forsthe-Crane in the crosswalk. Abino continued past the corner but returned to the scene and has cooperated with investigators. Alcohol was not a factor.

The investigation is continuing and no citations were immediately issued.
