Beaverton police are asking for the public's help is locating a driver and vehicle involved in an injury hit and run Tuesday involving a bicycle.

At about 5:40 a.m., Beaverton police officers were dispatched to an injury crash along Northwest Bronson Road near Bethany Boulevard in Beaverton.

When officers arrived, they contacted the victim, 40-year-old Joel May.

May told the officers he was riding his bicycle on Bronson Road when he was struck from behind by a truck and thrown from his bicycle.

May described the truck as a white, newer, full-size pickup truck. He was unable to get a license plate or description of the driver.

May sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the crash and went on his own to a hospital for treatment.

"The extent of the damage to the suspect vehicle is unknown at this time," said Officer Mike Rowe, Beaverton police spokesman. "It is believed that if there was any damage, it would be on the front, passenger side of the vehicle."

Anyone with information that would assist in locating and identifying the vehicle and its driver is asked to call Beaverton police at 503-629-0111.
