Beaverton’s Dispute Resolution Center is offering three conflict-resolution workshops on Aug. 6, Aug. 15 and Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All workshops are free and will be held at the Beaverton City Library, 12375 S.W. Fifth St.

Workshop topics include:

  • Managing Difficult Conversations: Tuesday, Aug. 6 — Learn to manage conflict when people disagree over their values, motivations, perceptions, ideas or desires.

  • Building Conflict Competence: Thursday, Aug. 15 — Learn to understand your own conflict styles and responses. Examine practice strategies such as reaching out, understanding another’s perspective, expressing emotions appropriately and creating solutions.

  • Bridging the Generational Gap: Thursday, Aug. 22 — Learn the common traits unique to each generation and participate in an open dialogue.
