Beaverton’s Visioning Advisory Committee invites residents to attend a Beaverton Forum on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Beaverton City Hall, 4755 S.W. Griffith Drive. The forum will highlight TriMet’s updated bus routes in Beaverton and a Beaverton Police Department update on public safety.

TriMet General Manager Neil McFarlane will be discussing the Westside Service Enhancement Plan and other updates for Beaverton. He will also answer questions from the public.

Beaverton Police Chief Geoff Spalding will share an extended video version of the recent Beaverton City Hall incident, in which a young man discharged a gun in the building’s lobby. Spalding will share the details of what happened, discuss the police department’s response and answer questions.

“I encourage residents to attend the Beaverton Forum,” said Mayor Denny Doyle. “Both Neil McFarlane and Chief Spalding will be sharing valuable information.”

“The Beaverton Forum is one more thing the visioning committee is doing to host opportunities for the public to learn about what is going on in our community, ask questions and get involved,” added Jaann Hoisington, committee chair.
