Beaverton High School band director arrested on sex abuse charges out of Lebanon
Allegations reportedly took place while Joshua Head worked at Lebanon High School
The Lebanon Police Department arrested Joshua Edward Head on Wednesday on four counts of third-degree sex abuse stemming from an alleged ongoing sexual relationship with a Lebanon High School student during 2006 and 2007.
He was the band teacher at Lebanon High School during the time these incidents reportedly occurred.
Head has been the band director at Beaverton High School since August 2007, and this school year also serves as a part-time band teacher at Whitford Middle School.
"The district's background and reference checks prior to his hire did not reveal any previous record or concerns," said Maureen Wheeler, Beaverton School District spokeswoman. "Head has been on administrative leave since Dec. 5, 2011, pending the outcome of the investigation."
The Beaverton School District is continuing to work with investigators at the Lebanon Police Department, Wheeler said.
If anyone has information, they are asked to contact Detective Shelly McInnes at the Lebanon Police Department, 541-258-4329.
