Aloha marks 100th birthday
The town of Aloha turns a century old this week. The magical date, connected to the day in 1912 when the Aloha Post Office was dedicated, is this Sunday, Jan. 8.
A big party is planned that afternoon at Mountain View Middle School, 17500 S.W. Farmington Road.
The public is invited to come by from 2 to 5 p.m. and join the Aloha Centennial Celebration, a free community birthday party for all residents and their families.
Organizers expect between 400 and 500 people to attend.
Plans call for food, games, face painting and Hawaiian dancing, not to mention booths featuring products and services from area businesses. The Aloha Business Association is sponsoring the event.
