Scholls Ferry project open house on tap

Contractor will discuss widening road from two to five lanes in stretch

Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation invites the public to attend a “Meet the Contractor” open house on Tuesday, Oct. 1, focused on the Scholls Ferry Road improvement project.

The public is invited to drop in at Scholls Heights Elementary School, 16400 S.W. Loon Drive, between 5 and 7 p.m. to meet the county’s hired contractor, Kerr Contractors, and learn more about the construction schedule.

Washington County staff members also will be on hand to discuss the project details.

This project entails widening the existing two- and three-lane section of Scholls Ferry Road between Roy Rogers Road and Teal Boulevard to five lanes. Additional improvements include bicycle lanes, sidewalks, street lighting, storm drainage and other safety improvements.

Construction will be completed by the end of 2014.

Funding for this project is provided by the county’s Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program.
