Hit-and-run wreck sends Tigard man to hospital
Driver returns to scene after fleeing
A hit-and-run wreck involving a motorcycle and a vehicle early Tuesday morning on Southwest Scholls Ferry Road sent a Tigard man to the hospital with serious injuries.
The Beaverton Police Department and the interagency Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team are investigating the crash.
Officers were dispatched just before 2 a.m. to a report of a motorcycle and its rider down at the intersection of Scholls Ferry Road and Southwest 121st Avenue.
Marc Besta, 35, of Tigard, was traveling westbound on Scholls Ferry Road on a motorcycle when a vehicle headed eastbound on Scholls Ferry Road turning onto Boones Bend Drive struck the cycle and fled the scene, said Beaverton police Officer Mike Rowe. Besta was transported to Oregon Health Science University Hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Around 4 a.m., Deandra Davis, 19, of Corvallis, the driver of the vehicle that struck Besta's motorcycle, returned to the scene and contacted police. Davis told police she was driving the car that hit the motorcycle, Rowe said.
Scholls Ferry Road was closed for about six hours while the crash analysis team completed its investigation.
Davis has not been arrested or cited at this point. Officers are continuing their investigation. It is not known if alcohol contributed to this injury crash.
