Deputies seek owners of recovered stolen property

900 items recovered in April investigation; 10 victims, six suspects identified

Washington County Sheriff's Office property crime detectives are searching for the owners of stolen property recovered during a search warrant in April as well as for additional property that has yet to be recovered.by: WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE - A vintage John Deere metal airplane bank, a model of a1927 Lockheed Vega 5B, is among recovered stolen items the Washington County Sheriff's Office is trying to reunite with their owners after an April investigation into a burglary ring.

Detectives received information in April concerning stolen property and an organized group of individuals responsible for many burglaries. On April 18, they executed a search warrant at 24490 S.W. Farmington Road in unincorporated Washington County. About 900 items were recovered and several victims identified based on property seized during the warrant, which included jewelry, guns, tools and many other items of value.

At least six people were identified as suspects through evidence and other investigative information and detectives have identified 10 burglary victims in Forest Grove, Cornelius and Hillsboro. Deputies have taken numerous burglary reports in Washington County that are believed to be related to this group, said Sgt. Bob Ray, a sheriff's office spokesman.

It appears the suspects were scouting locations prior to the burglaries, using the homeowner's vehicle in at least two cases to transport stolen property to another location. Both vehicles were recovered a short distance from where the burglaries took place. The investigation is ongoing and arrests are forthcoming.

Detectives are searching reports and evidence to connect the stolen property to reported burglary and theft cases. While many items have been claimed by their owners, many more items remain unclaimed.

Because of the high volume of stolen property that hasn't been returned to victims, the property was photographed and a sheriff's office website created at HelpIDProperty.com. The website allows potential victims to view the items to see if they recognize any of their stolen property. Items may also be claimed online.

Some of the identifiable items that have not been recovered include:

• Two white 2003 Suzuki LTZ400 ATVs

• 1977 Norman Rockwell plate "Painting the Fence"

• Ajax peanut machine (photo attached)

• Vintage John Deere metal airplane bank 1927 Lockheed Vega 5B

Anyone with information about the location of any of the items is asked to call the sheriff's office at 503-846-2700.
