The charges are Class C felonies.

Curry is also charged with 22 additional crimes.

She quietly pleaded not guilty in a courtroom at the Washington County Jail Monday morning as her attorney, Leonard J. Kovac Jr., stood by her side. Washington County Circuit Court Judge Beth Roberts presided.

Curry, 38, was arrested July 8, eight days after the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received information that warranted an investigation. The civilian employee's court credentials were taken away at that time, and she was released from custody after posting bail.

Additional counts were filed July 28, including six for second-degree custodial sexual misconduct (a misdemeanor); 13 counts of first-degree official misconduct (misdemeanors); and two counts of identity theft (Class C felonies).

The sexual misconduct incidents reportedly occurred between May 25 and July 3.

The identity theft allegedly occurred when Curry attempted to send mail and money to an inmate using another person’s personal identification.

The inmate in the case testified in front of the grand jury, along with six other witnesses.

According to public records, Curry most recently lived in Portland's Parkrose Heights neighborhood, in a house she purchased with Warren N. Curry in 2007. Curry’s maiden name was Jill A. Kusah.

After Monday's arraignment, she was booked into the county jail and released about one hour later, accompanied by a female acquaintance. Court documents show a security amount of $175,000. Curry paid 10 percent of her original $120,000 bail prior to the arraignment.

A pretrial conference is scheduled for Aug. 25.
