Cooling centers are open throughout Washington County and Wilsonville, with some extended hours.

August is ending, but not the region's heat wave. The weekend should see temperatures in the upper 90s, with triple-digit highs on Monday — Labor Day — and Tuesday.

Public health officials warn that hot weather could be dangerous for anyone, but especially for young children, older adults or anyone with an existing heart or lung illness.

"We urge people to limit their time outdoors if possible, wear loose-fitting and lightweight clothing, drink plenty of water, and stay in air-conditioning as much they can," said Dr. Christina Baumann, Washington County deputy health officer.

The county's Emergency Management Department has compiled a list of locations where people can stay cool from Friday, Sept. 1, through Thursday, Sept. 7.

Many places are closed or have different hours on Labor Day.

Washington County will post any cooling center updates on their website.

Washington County Emergency Management has also posted an interactive map with all of the cooling center information.
