Beaverton Police identified and arrested a man on Wednesday, Sept. 6 on charges of compelling prostitution and the department believes there might be more victims.
The investigation began when police became aware of a 17-year-old girl that was being used in prostitution, according to Beaverton Police Public Information Officer Mike Rowe.
Ahmed Gbanabom Turay, Jr., 36, was also charged with violating a restraining order.
According to Rowe, a date was set up on Sept. 6 at the Knoll West Apartments at Southwest Camelot Court.
"When the victim arrived, she was in a car operated by Ahmed Turay and was dropped off in the parking lot. Turay drove out of the parking lot and was stopped by a Beaverton Police officer. Evidence was found in the vehicle that was common in the compelling of prostitution. Turay was arrested," according to Rowe. "It is believed that there might be more victims that were or are being compelled into prostitution by Turay," he added.
Turay is being held at the Washington County Jail.
