United Methodist Women host Spring Tea on Saturday

Event focuses on mission to end human trafficking

Tualatin United Methodist Women invite the public to attend its annual Spring Tea on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Guests will enjoy a luncheon while learning what they can do to stop human trafficking.

United Methodist Women from across the nation have joined this sacred mission by taking a stand to prevent, protect and prosecute those impacted by this trade in human beings that occurs everywhere in the world. Through education, partnership and action, United Methodist Women are working with faith representatives, elected officials, law enforcement and other community groups to build awareness and ignite flames of hope for those who are trafficked.

Speakers will be Lilia Lee, founder of Save a Survivor’s Smile, and a Tigard police officer, who is a member of the Human Trafficking Task Force.

A free-will offering will be accepted to help victims of human trafficking.

The event will be held at Tualatin United Methodist Church, 20200 S.W. Martinazzi Ave., in Tualatin.
