NEWS IN BRIEF

FELLOWS HONORED: Emily Fellows, a Jesuit High grad who is now a junior forward on the Linfield women’s soccer team, added yet another new honor to her lengthy list of accomplishments with her selection to the NSCAA All-America squad.

Linfield’s all-time leading scorer and the first Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year in program history, Fellows became the first Wildcat women’s soccer player to ever garner All-America recognition, as announced Tuesday by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Fellows was a first-team selection at the national level, and was the only player from the Northwest Conference represented on any of the three teams. The honor came in recognition of another statistically high-achieving year for the captain, who led both the team and conference in scoring with 18 goals, including seven game winners, and six assists. She notched three multiple-goal games, including her fifth career hat trick, and recorded a goal and/or an assist in all but three matches.
