Gary Postlewait was transported by Life Flight medical helicopter to Oregon Heath & Science University where he was admitted in critical condition. He had been discharged by Monday. Postlewait is the owner of Postlewait’s Orchards, Vineyards and Country Weddings at 29510 S. Barlow Road.

Canby Fire District officials said the accident happened shortly before 9:08 a.m. in the 29000-block of Barlow Road. Postlewait was moving the tractor from one field to the next when a black 2011 Kia 4-door car struck the tractor from behind, causing it to flip over, trapping Postlewait. Postlewait freed himself before firefighters arrived.

The driver of the car, Jason Calloway, 26, of Wilsonville, was not injured. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office cited him for careless driving.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s office is investigating the accident.

Molalla, Clackamas and Aurora fire units, assisted Canby firefighters.
