Clackamas County’s moratorium on medical marijuana until May 1, 2015 will stand as petitioners failed to gather enough signatures for an initiative campaign.

Lindsey Rinehart, the campaign’s leader, needed to submit 9,378 signatures by Aug. 6 to the County Clerk’s Office.

“We only got a few thousand signatures, and that’s an estimate,” Rinehart said. “Unfortunately, the funding didn’t come in.”

Rinehart is the manager of The 45th Parallel Group, a medical marijuana facility that has been unable to open because of the ban, in unincorporated Clackamas County.
