Chamber CEO announces he's leaving
Rick Anderson, who took the job in June, has resigned effective the end of June
The Canby Area Chamber of Commerce will again need to find someone to spearhead its efforts. Rick Anderson, who began his duties as Canby Chamber of Commerce CEO the first of June, announced Monday that he was resigning from the position effective the end of August, having decided to take a position with a company in the Portland area.
Although his tenure was brief, Chamber President Ryan Oliver said Anderson had launched initiatives that the board of directors had given him to advance the organizations goals, which helped strengthen the Canby business community.
I loved working with my home town, Anderson said. Canby is a community that values business and recognizes the importance of creating growth for business and opportunities for economic vitality.
While the resignation was unexpected and we hate to see Rick go, we understand he made this decision with the best interest of his family in mind," Oliver said. "Rick started working on the strategic plan that we (the board) set in place to build a new 21st century chamber for our business members.
