A Snow Sensation

by: PHOTOS BY DAX LEGASPI - Canby children didn't waste time or the snow that was falling, hitting areas all over the city to slip and slide on. This crew got together on the closed N. Aspen Street across from Third Avenue for a little winter fun. The children are: (from left) Kyler Hodges, Kholten Ross, Dylan Schell, Thor Laitinen, Zane Barbie, Cianna Legaspi, Ansley Barbie, and Moses.Canby waited and waited for the snow to fall Thursday and when it finally arrived around 3 p.m., it fell with a vengeance. Recurring snow showers brought from eight to 10 inches of snow to the area through Saturday, grinding most of the city to a halt. By Monday, the temperatures had warmed and the rains were falling, washing away much of this year’s winter blast. Police and fire agencies reported minimal issues with the weather. From left, Will Ash, Noah Walker, Isaac Shrier, Haley Beck and Rosiee Barigan put the finishing touches on their eight-foot snowman. Sixty-five-year-old Irene Shrier heads down the hill for a short run after getting a push from a brave gentleman in shorts.
