Free lunch available at The Canby Center Thursdays

The St. Vincent De Paul lunch bus is back in Canby after a six month break, stopping at The Canby Center every Thursday at noon. The meals are free and open to anyone.

Home will open up for ministry opportunity

Cherrie Simpson of New Freedom Ministries of Colville, Wash., will be at the home of Ronda Stone Sunday at 2:30 p.m. for a time of worship, word and healing.

Cherrie and her husband, Larry, currently the pastor at International House of Worship, will talk about their real life experiences and testimony. Cherrie is an award-winning singer and music writer.

The event will be at 1470 NE 11th Ave. in Canby.

Southern gospel group sets late March performance

Southern gospel group Cornerstone will perform Sunday, March 23, at 10:45 a.m. at the Canby Church of the Nazarene, 2323 E. Territorial Road.

The concert is free, but an offering will be taken to help the group’s ministry.

The Canby Public Library will offer one final free class in its computer skills improvement series.

“Getting to Know Social Media” will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at the library.

Canby Adult Center in need of kitchen volunteers

The Canby Adult Center is looking for volunteers for several hours to assist with food preparation and serving. Volunteers will need to be able to work on their feet for several hours. The CAC serves meals Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from about 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The facility could use one day a week or one day a month help. To volunteer, stop by the center to pick up an application.”

Fundraiser auction benefit North Marion students

A Day in the Life of North Marion School Benefit Auction Dinner will be held Saturday, April 12, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Silverton Health Center in Woodburn.

Doors open at 5 p.m.; silent auction starts at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is served at 7:15 p.m. The oral auction gets underway at 7:30 p.m.

Canby Adult Center hosts card games Monday afternoons

Join the Canby Adult Center for bridge every Monday at 1 p.m.

Pinochle is offered Tuesday and Friday afternoons at 1 p.m.

All levels of player are welcome.

St. Patrick community garden project offering bingo in the afternoons

The St. Patrick Community Garden project will continue to hold bingo every Friday throughout March at the St. Patrick Parish Center at 422 NW Ninth Ave. in Canby.

There will be only one session in the afternoon from 1-4 p.m. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. Regular games and specials are played; cash prizes awarded, including $200 progressive pot. Proceeds will benefit completion of St Patrick Community Garden which provides fresh organic produce for food bank clients and gardeners.

Canby Adult Center continues bingo program on Tuesdays

The Canby Adult Center’s bingo game runs from 1-4 p.m. Tuesdays. Doors open at noon.

The first regular packet is $5 and the second is $3. There’s also a blackout pot of $200 and weekly raffles. Canby Adult Center is at 1250 S, Ivy St.

Preschool auction set for mid-April this year

The 18th annual Canby Community Preschool fundraising auction will be Saturday, April 12, at the Clackamas County Event Center 4H building.

The adults only event will feature a wild west auction. Doors and silent auction open at 4:30 p.m. Dinner tickets are $30 each and can be purchased at the school or online at http://www.canbycommunitypreschool.com/auction/purchase-auction-tickets.

The Canby Educational Foundation will hold its annual Spring Fling Thursday, April 24, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Willamette Valley Country Club.
