The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife will hold a steelhead fishing workshop on Saturday, April 5, on the Sandy River near Corbett.
Steelhead are one of Oregons most challenging but rewarding fish to catch, said Mark Newell, ODFW outdoor skills program coordinator. The ODFW is teaming up with Sandy River Chapter of the Association of Northwest Steelheaders in a hands-on workshop that will show anglers how to find and catch these hard-fighting fish.
Participants will learn everything they need to go fishing from tying the first knot to landing or releasing their catch, Newell said.
All participants must have either a daily fishing license with a Columbia River endorsement or an annual fishing license with the Columbia River endorsement and a combined angling tag.
