Wrestling: Canby routs Lakeridge to remain unbeaten in TRL
The Cougars will wrap up their conference slate with matches against Clackamas and West Linn.
The Canby wrestling team remained undefeated in Three Rivers League action with a 64-15 rout of Lakeridge on the road Jan. 30.
The Cougars (3-0 in the TRL) won four of their six contested matches against the Pacers, but they dominated the team score with 42 additional points on seven victories by forfeit.
Aaron Jarmer, Nick Strnad and Jacob Posey won by fall to lead Canby on an evening that featured less than half an hour of actual competition.
Jarmer (132) pinned Adam Bartkowski in 3 minutes 37 seconds, Strnad (138) put Paul Sanchez on his back in 1:22 and Posey (170) finished off Ibraheem Almulla in 1:28.
Tama Willis (160) gave the Cougars four more points with a 14-0 major decision over Nick Dee.
Canby lost one match by fall, one match by decision and gave up six points on a loss by forfeit at 220.
The Cougars defeated Oregon City and Lake Oswego in their first two conference duals by scores of 40-31 and 54-24, respectively.
They will wrap up their regular season with 7 p.m. matches against Clackamas (at home Feb. 5) and West Linn (on the road Feb. 11). Their regional tournament is scheduled for Feb. 21-22 at Troutdale-Reynolds.
