Girls basketball: Bailey Raines hurts knee in Canby's loss to No. 5 Oregon City

The Cougars fall to the Pioneers after trouncing Lake Oswego to snag a season sweep.

The No. 11 Cougars demolished the Lakers 69-25 at home Feb. 11 to earn a season sweep.

Senior starters Rachel Erbe and Ashley Evans matched Lake Oswego’s scoring output by themselves. Erbe had 13 points and Evans added 12 to go along with six rebounds and six assists.

Canby 14-7 (3-4 in the Three Rivers League) then came up short in a 67-56 loss to the fifth-ranked Pioneers (14-6, 6-1) in which senior guard Bailey Raines did not return after sustaining a knee injury.

Erbe finished with a game-high 19 points. Sophomore guard Skylee Doman chipped in 10 points, seven rebounds, six steals and five assists.

The Cougars wrap up the regular season with road games against Lakeridge (Feb. 18) and West Linn (Feb. 21) and a home game against second-ranked Clackamas (Feb. 25).
