Clyde (Shorty) Gerald Nash
Family and friends ay attend a Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Boise. There will be a get-together afterwards at Larry Riggins home in Caldwell.
Shorty was born Aug. 29, 1926 in Bassett, Calif., to Ernest and Grace Nash, the eighth of nine children. At the age of 12 he moved to his sister and brother-in-law's ranch where he lived and worked. During World War II, Shorty served as a Sergeant of the 9th Infantry. In Japan, he received the Metal of Victory. Shorty later married and had four children. He was devoted to his family and business. He ranched and rodeoed in California, Oregon, and Nevada. His livelihood was his construction business, "The Golden Hammers", in California and then moved to Boise after retirement.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Joanna and Gary Bowers of Prineville; daughter and son-in-law Karen and Daryl Huggins of West Jordan, Utah; son and daughter-in-law Ernie and Julie Nash of Prineville; son John Nash of Antelope; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
In lieu of flowers a donation to the American Lung Association in his name would be appreciated.m
