Police chase starting in Prineville covers three counties
A Prineville man and Salem man flee police, arrested in Jefferson County
A vehicle pursuit that began in Prineville crossed into two other counties before Oregon State Police were able to stop the driver.
The chase began Wednesday morning around 9:45 a.m., when an officer attempted to stop a silver 1994 Buick occupied by 23-year-old Prineville resident Eddie Villagomez-Lopez and David Casteneda-Valerio, age 21 of Salem.
According to OSP, Prineville police terminated the pursuit but it was later resumed by Redmond Police Department in their jurisdiction. Redmond police later terminated the pursuit as well. The vehicle traveled through Terrebonne and Culver where Oregon State Police, Madras Police Department and Jefferson County used spike strips to stop the vehicle. As a result of the spikes, all four tires were deflated but the vehicle continued at a slower rate of speed.
Oregon State Police ultimately used a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI) maneuver to force the vehicle off the roadway where it became immobile. Both subjects were taken into custody.
The vehicle occupants were lodged in Jefferson County, and additional charges will be filed in Deschutes and Crook counties.
The investigation is continuing and the charges will be updated at a later time.
