Large portion of vacant Woodgrain facility collapses

Roof has fallen and walls on a large northeast portion of the plant are leaning heavily

JASON CHANEY - A photo of the building collapse taken on Peters Road at the northeast corner of the plant.

A large portion on the northeast side of the vacated Woodgrain Millwork facility collapsed on Sunday, following several days of heavy snowfall.

The plant was initially closed and more than 200 of its employees laid off following a snow-caused roof collapse in November 2014. After keeping part of its operations intact, the plant closed for good in October 2015, and 55 more of its employees were let go. No additional details have yet been provided on the recent building collapse. An update will provided when more information is made available.
