Crook County Fire and Rescue will be participating in the Holiday Partnership Food Drive, Saturday


In today’s Central Oregonian, on pages B3 through B6, you will find the Christmas Giveaway Game.

The advertisers and game tags will run in the Tuesday publication for the next three weeks. Today, you will find the game tags on page B6. Just fill in your name and phone number on the tags that represents the businesses participating in the Our Town Christmas Giveaway. Then cut out the entry tags and bring them to the specific business and enter them in the Our Town Christmas Giveaway Box at that business by Friday, Dec. 20, at noon.

The game will also be available in the TMC/Supplement that is published on Thursdays and mailed to non-subscribers.

We will be drawing the winning entries on Friday, Dec. 20, where 25 winners will be drawn for the $25 gift certificates from participating businesses. Then all remaining entries will be eligible for the Christmas scrip drawing. The first two entrants drawn will win $100 in spending scrip, and the third entrant drawn will win $300 in spending scrip that can be spent at any participating business.

Start playing the Christmas Giveaway Game today and your holiday may get a little brighter.

“What’s Brewing?” will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 4, from 7 to 8 a.m., at Meadow Lakes Restaurant. This week’s speakers will be Shawn Benson and Dean Noyes, CCF Advisory Committee, on “Is a sports and entertainment complex in Prineville’s Future?” The community forum is free and open to the public, and breakfast is available for purchase.

The Community Sing and Food Drive at the Crook County Community Center will be open to the public on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 4 to 11 p.m. People are welcome to come donate some food and sing some Christmas songs for this charity event, which is sponsored by Chuck Balkwill and friends.

Crook County Fire and Rescue will be participating in the Holiday Partnership Food Drive. The food drive will take place Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., collecting nonperishable food items. They will be focusing on the Northridge subdivision area.  For more information, call 541-447-5011.

Crook County High School Equestrian Team spent the last several months raising money through the bottle and can trailer that is set up at the Les Schwab Tire Center. Money raised was designated for the DHS Foster Child Program. In doing so, they were able to make this Christmas a little brighter for those children with a check for $250 which they presented to Kimberly Bush, supervisor, Crook County DHS.
