Central Oregon Association of Realtors (COAR) will be holding an open house weekend throughout Central Oregon on Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1. There are four local realty offices participating in Crook County to help you through the process of buying a new home. This is the perfect time to take advantage of these market conditions, while connecting with professional realtors.

The Bowman Museum, at 246 N. Main St., will be hosting “The Best of Central Oregon,” presented by Scott Staats on Sunday, June 1.

Staats will present a slideshow titled “The Best of Central Oregon,” which will cover everything from the John Day Fossil Beds to the Cascades east and west and from the Crooked River National Grassland to Newberry National Volcanic Monument north and south.

You are invited to join members of the Crook County Historical Society and the general public for a potluck and program. The potluck will start at 1 p.m. in the Bowman Museum’s Community Room with the program to follow at 1:45 p.m.

Staats’ stories have been published in many magazines and newspapers and he has received regional and national awards for his work. He’s had an outdoor column in the Central Oregonian for the past nine years. He has also written an outdoor humor book titled “Not Out of the Woods Quite Yet.” Copies of his book will be available for sale. Scott will sign copies after the presentation.
