Nominations for Crook County's Amazing Kids needed

The Central Oregonian is seeking nominations of boys and girls, ranging in age from elementary school to high school senior, to represent Crook County as an Amazing Kid.

Submitted nominations should include the nominee’s name, city or area of residence, and a narrative explaining the nominee’s achievements.

Please provide a telephone number where we can contact the nominee as well.

Amazing Kids is a Pamplin Media Group-wide program to showcase our communities' standout youth. One youth from each of the communities our newspapers serve will be featured at a Portland dinner on Oct. 30, featuring Olympic champion Scott Hamilton as guest speaker.

Main Business Complex & Storage is hosting their Fifth Annual Business After Hours this Thursday, Aug. 21 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. They invite you to come see all of the businesses located in the complex, relax, and have fun. There will be food, drinks, drawings, fun, and networking. They are located at 1210 N. Main St.

Prineville Perk will be held at Mosaic Medical on Friday, Aug. 22. Mosaic Medical is located at 375 N.W. The Chamber is looking for businesses to host the weekly gathering. The Crook County Foundation’s Picnic in the Park concert series continues this Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the Pioneer Park. This week’s entertainment will be Hook Me Up Quartet “Jazz,” and they will perform from 6–8 p.m.

Ochoco Vision Source, located at 340 N.W. Beaver St., will be holding a Kid’s Day on Aug. 28, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This free community service is to encourage an awareness of one’s health condition, so that timely action can be taken. For more information, you can contact them at 541-447-5537.

The Neat Repeat is having a back to school sale on all furniture. They are located at 170 N Main St. The sale ends on Aug. 30.
