Check with the head coach for your specific sport for accurate practice schedules

After nearly three months off, the high school fall sports season is about to begin.

Fall practices start early this year, with the first official day of practice occurring on Monday, August 14.

In order to participate in practices, students, other than home school students, are required to be registered for the 2018 school year.High school athletic practices begin

Home school students must make sure that they have finished all required testing and are properly registered in order to be eligible.

Students must have a valid current physical on file. Physicals are good for just two years, and must be filled out on the correct OSAA medical form, which is available at most doctors' offices or on line at OSAA.org.

Students also need proof of insurance and must have enrolled in and passed at least five classes in the previous grading period.

Current academic policy requires students to have at least a 2.0 GPA and be making reasonable progress toward graduation. District policy makes students ineligible if they have two Ds or one F during the previous grading period, or if the student falls to that level during the sports season.

Students must also go to the office and receive a white paper from the office verifying that they are eligible to participate. That slip must be given to the head coach for their sport before they will be allowed to practice.

Cost to participate in athletics is $125, or $100 if the individual qualifies for free and reduced lunches.

There is a $750 maximum for athletic fees per family per year.

Athletes should check with the head coach for their individual sport concerning practice times.
