Review, Tidings looking for Youth Board members

Think you can write? Go on, prove it!

The Lake Oswego Review and West Linn Tidings are looking for teen-agers with fresh ideas to sit on the papers' 2006-2007 Youth Board.

Students will advise the newspapers on interesting topics and also pursue ideas on their own. All students on the board will be given opportunities to write for the papers and see their work published. Topics can include sports, music, fashion, movies, politics and more.

We are looking for original thinkers who love to write.

Students interested in applying to sit on the Youth Board must be willing to attend meetings once a month, be able to meet regular deadlines and show a strong interest in writing and newspaper journalism.

Students applying for the positions must live in Lake Oswego, West Linn or Dunthorpe and be between the ages of 12 and 20.

To apply, students should submit a short biography (remember to have fun with this!) and/or a writing sample. Include three topics you might be interested in writing about, your name, age, the school you attend, your address, phone number and any other information you think is relevant.

Finalists will be contacted for an in-person interview.
