Hal and Gloria Pliska celebrated their 50th anniversary on Friday, July 21, with their family in Gresham.
They were married July 21, 1956, at St. Charles Church in Portland.
They lived in Portland until moving to Gresham in 1979.
Hal began working with fuels as a station attendant for his uncle, Ray Pliska in 1956. He opened and operated a Mobil station on Cleveland and Powell.
He opened Space Age Fuel in the early 1980s with Gloria in Gresham. Hal still works as the president of Space Age Fuel.
Gloria worked as a homemaker and kept records for the station. She retired and has earned a Masters Bridge status.
Hal and Gloria enjoy golfing, traveling and visiting with their 11 grandchildren.
They are members of St. Henry Catholic Church.
The couple has four children; Karen Klinger, Jim Pliska and Christy Bow, all of Gresham and Judy Ruiz of West Linn.
