Obituary: Leotha Micki Faye Ellis

Gresham resident Leotha 'Micki' Faye Ellis, 71, died Tuesday, July 18, at a Portland care facility. A graveside service was held Friday, July 21, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Gresham. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 23, at Clackamas Valley Baptist Church, 29275 S.E. Eagle Creek Road, Estacada.
Micki was born Oct. 23, 1934, in Espanola, N.M., to John and Mary (Walters) Jones. When she was 4 years old, they moved to Vanport. She attended West Orient Grade School and Sandy Union High School.
On Oct. 26, 1952, Micki married Sidney 'Sid' Ellis in Stevenson, Wash. They lived in a number of places before settling in the Pleasant Home area of Gresham in 1978.
Micki was a tax consultant. She retired in 1989.
Micki was a longtime member of Clackamas Valley Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess. She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include her husband of Gresham; sons, Joe Ellis of Sandy and Brian Ellis of San Diego; daughters, Crystal Anderson of Eatonville, Wash., and Shanna Ellis-Lawrence of San Diego; brother, Donald Clayburne Jones of Cushing, Texas; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
