Tigard Elite hoop program gets going

TIGARD - The new Tigard Elite Basketball program, previously part of TBA and formally known as Competitive and Classic, has been formed.

Tigard Elite will be a separate organization and consist of both boys and girls competitive teams (fifth through eighth grade) competing in the Three Rivers League and participating in numerous local and regional tournaments throughout the year.

The new Tigard Elite Basketball program will be aligned and mirror the Tigard High School basketball program goals and objectives. The focus will be on player skill development, competition at a high level and preparation for competing at the high school level.

The new Tigard Elite Basketball program will host a live coach and player registration and open house on Thursday, July 27, between 6 and 9 p.m. at the Tigard High School commons area.

The open house will also be hosted by Tigard High boys basketball coach Shawn Alderman, Tigard High girls basketball coach Steve Naylor, Tigard Elite Basketball board membres and special guests.
