Raiders advance to Little League state title series

Reynolds wins five elimination games to stay alive
by: contributed photo, Members of the Reynolds Little League team are introduced before their 6-2 win against Pendleton to survive the elimination bracket Friday.

The Reynolds (ages 9-10) Little Leaguers beat host Pendleton to move into the state championship round this weekend. Lane Evans put Reynolds into the lead with a two-run double in the fourth inning, while pitcher Joseph Palmisano struck out seven in a complete-game effort.

Pendleton loaded the bases with no outs in the fourth inning, but Reynolds' Cameron Sheets made three straight putouts to end the threat. Reynolds needs back-to-back wins against Sun Creek on Saturday and Sunday to claim the championship.

The Raiders lost their first game against Hollywood, but have won five straight elimination games to reach the finals.
