Knights rally to beat Kitsap 7-6 in series opener
Tyler Moore's two run single accounts for winning margin
The Aloha Knights extended its win streak to five games, picking up a key 7-6 victory against Kitsap on Friday, July 28.
The Bluejackets built an early 5-2 lead, only to see Aloha tie the game with a three-run burst in the fifth inning.
Jared Prince hit with a two-run single under the shortstop's glove, and Aloha pulled even when Shawn Wayt knocked another run-scoring single through the right side.
Aloha moved in front in the sixth inning when David Douglas graduate Tyler Moore sent a two-run single into center field.
The Bluejackets put the tying run at third base in the seventh inning, but Aloha reliever James Wallace whizzed a fastball past Kitsap's designated hitter to protect the lead.
The win keeps the Knights (20-14) in the chase for a spot in the West Coast League championship series. Aloha can eliminate Kitsap by sweeping the three-game game series, which concludes with 7 p.m. games Saturday and Sunday at Mt. Hood Community College.
