TROUTDALE - Troutdale Police recovered thousands of credit and debit card receipts that were found in the laundry room of a local apartment complex Wednesday morning.
A resident of the apartments, which are in the 400 block of Second Street, reported finding a large number of credit card receipts, with full credit card numbers, in the complex laundry room, said Sgt. Marc Shrake, Troutdale police spokesman.
All of the receipts are from Carter's, a popular baby store in the Columbia Gorge Premium Outlets.
The store manager, Kim Cortez, was reportedly told to dispose of all of the store receipts from 2002 and 2003, so she threw the receipts into the Dumpster at her apartment complex about two weeks before they were found, Shrake said.
Anyone who used their credit or debit cards at the Carter's Outlet during that time should actively monitor their accounts.
Police do not know who removed the receipts from the Dumpster.
