Eagles' rally falls short in 6-3 loss to North Medford
Centennial dropped into the elimination bracket at the A American Legion state tournament after losing a 6-3 second-round game to North Medford on Saturday.
Drew Fisher earned a bases-loaded walk to bring the winning run to the plate with no outs in the seventh inning. But the threat vanished on a pair of infield pop-ups and a ground out to end the game.
The Eagles held a brief 1-0 lead in the first inning when Troy Harris hit a triple over the right fielder's head to score Fisher from first base. Fisher also pitched a complete game.
Centennial needs back-to-back wins to reach Tuesday's championship round. The Eagles start that quest at 12 p.m. Sunday against The Dalles.
