Folk singer Michael McGinnis will perform at a concert to benefit the YMCA Camp Collins 'Kids to Camp' fund at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at the home of Margaret Rice, 3680 S.E. Oxbow Parkway.
Tickets for adults are $20 in advance, $25 day of show; $10 in advance and $15 day of show for youth ages 6-18; and free for children ages 5 and younger.
The fund assists children who need financial assistance to attend camp.
McGinnis sang with the New Christy Minstrel Singers and has also played with Rodeo Gypsies. Kim Carnes, Don Henley and Michael McDonald have performed his tunes.
Other performers this year include Richie Macioce, formerly with the band Brooklyn Bridge, and David P. Jackson, bassist with John Denver, Jimmy Buffet, New Christy Minstrel Singers, Leo Kottke, Joe Cocker, Cher and several other major artists.
The musicians will share an evening of music, stories, humor, nostalgia and fun for all ages. Folks should bring a picnic supper and low chairs or blankets for sitting.
