Local car owners to participate in car show

Local classic car owners will have an opportunity to show their stuff at this year's Columbia River Concours d'Elegance car show Sunday, Aug. 7, in Vancouver, Wash.
Patricia and Davy Crockett of Damascus were selected to show their 1956 Ford Thunderbird Roadster and a 1966 Morgan 4/4 Roadster.
The car show will include hundreds of models of classic and collectible cars, from Jaguar to Bentley to Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz. There are also categories for fire vehicles and commercial vehicles, motorcycles and scooters.
Entries can win Best in Show, Best in Class, Second and Third in Class and a number of specialty awards. The show is sponsored by the Rotary clubs of West Linn and East Vancouver, Wash., and all proceeds will go to Rotary-sponsored projects.
Show hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Officers Row on the grounds of Fort Vancouver. Awards will begin at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 prepaid and $10 day of the event. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to columbiariverconcours.com.
