Gresham resident Robert Eugene Kohler, 82, died Saturday, July 29. Viewing will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd., Gresham.
A funeral Mass will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 2310 S.E. 148th Ave., Portland. Private interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Gresham.
Robert was born April 5, 1924, in Colville, Wash., to Frank and Hattie (Love) Kohler. He graduated from Columbia High School in Hunters, Wash., in 1942.
He served in the Army Air Corps in Italy during World War II.
On March 20, 1947, Robert married Joyce Margaret Crain in Colville. They moved to Portland in 1958. Robert worked as an appliance repairman for General Electric for 29 years before he retired in 1987.
Robert was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Portland. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of Gresham; daughters, Kathy Evatt of Beaverton, Gail Kohler-Perkins of Gresham, Pam Washam and Lynn Leiner, both of Portland; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
