Obituary: Donald Don Kit Dweak

Oct. 24, 1931-July 27, 2006

East County resident Donald 'Don' Kit Dweak, 74, died of heart failure Thursday, July 27. A celebration of life was held Monday, July 31, at Gresham Funeral Chapel.

Don was born Oct. 24, 1931, in Portland to Kit and Eunice (Pulley) Dweak. He was raised and educated in Portland, where he graduated from Jefferson High School.

In 1950, he joined the Navy and served as a medical corpsman. He was discharged in 1954.

On June 5, 1954, Don married Janice Weibel in Vancouver, Wash. He continued his education at Portland State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1959. He then worked as a teacher in the Portland Public Schools for 21 years.

Don enjoyed residential construction and investing in real estate.

Survivors include his wife of Gresham; daughters, Diane Geisler of Puyallup, Wash., Barbara Anderson of Portland; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association. Gresham Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
