Stafford Road in the Palisades area will be closed overnight between Bergis and Rosemont roads between 8:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. from Aug. 7 to 30.
The closure allows for overnight construction of a new sewer line along the road. The city of Lake Oswego is extending sewer service to 24 homes in the area and to planned athletic fields on Stafford Road. Avamere is also shouldering a portion of the project costs, to service a future development at 1200 Overlook Drive. The health services company is building an independent living facility for senior citizens in that location.
Avamere plans 93 independent living units, 12 assisted living units on Overlook Drive, called The Stafford. The facility will include a spa and on-site restaurant and is scheduled to open in November 2007.
The closure of Stafford Road for the improvements is expected to span only 23 days. Those with questions or concerns are asked to contact Marty Surby of the Santè Group, a developer of Avamere facilities, at 503-783-2499.
