Gulliver, Brown, Morgan and England run to sixth at the USATF nationals
Teamwork will take you a long way in this world, and no one knows that better now than Kirk Gulliver, Nathan Brown, Ryan England and Blaine Morgan.
The quartet, who competed this summer in the 11-12 year-old division of USA Track and Field, put together a memorable list of accomplishments including:
n They finished first in the 4 x 800-meter relay at the Oregon State USATF championships June 24 at Willamette University;
n They placed first in the 4 x 800 USATF Northwest Regional Championships July 8 at Willamette, which qualified the team for nationals;
n They took first again in the 4 x 800 at the Track City Invitational Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, breaking the meet record by 18 seconds at 10 minutes, 5 seconds.
n And they placed sixth in the USATF National Championships at Morgan State University in Baltimore on July 26. At that meet, the team ran a season-best mark of 9:59.34 to earn a spot on the medal stand.
The team runs for CYO Track Club of Oregon, with Gulliver attending school at Raleigh Hills, Brown at Cedar Park, England at Jackson in Hillsboro, and Morgan at Emmaus Christian in Hillsboro.
