Obituary: Jane Maurine Rea

East County resident Jane Maurine Rea, 66, died Tuesday, Aug. 1. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3600 S.E. 182nd Ave., Gresham.

Jane was born Aug. 6, 1939, in Peoria, Ill., to David and Daisy (Paulsen) Price. She was raised and educated in Boise, Idaho.

On Aug. 18, 1957, Jane married Robert Ransom Rea in Mountain Home, Idaho. Jane was a homemaker. In 1967, she and her husband moved to Portland from Boise, Idaho. They later moved to Estacada and then Arizona, where they lived until 1990. At that time, they moved back to Portland.

Jane volunteered to rock newborns at a local hospital and crocheted baby clothes for the needy. She enjoyed art and studying music.

Jane was preceded in death by her sister, Jeannie Leah; and five grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of Portland; daughters, Christina Hamilton and Angela Cotton both of Portland; sons, Wesley Rea of Portland and Noel Rea of Mount Angel; brothers, David Price and Allen Price, both of Nampa, Idaho; sisters, Mary Shaffer of Nampa and Judy Broadfoot of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and six grandchildren.
