Former Gresham resident Linda Lee Taylor, 65, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, in Oregon City. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at Douglass Pioneer Cemetery, Southwest 14th Street, Troutdale.
Linda was born Oct. 15, 1940, in West Eaton, N.Y., to George and Frances Smith. In 1952, she moved with her family to Portland. She graduated from Reynolds High School in 1958.
In 1959, Linda moved to Newport, R.I., where she lived until 1961, when she moved to London. She lived in Louisville, Ky., from 1963-68, and in Gresham from 1968 until the early 1990s. Linda then moved to Fredericksburg, Va., and Vallejo, Calif., before retiring in Oregon City in 2000.
In December 1963, Linda married Fred R. Taylor in Oregon. They divorced in 1991, but remained friends.
Linda worked as a grant manager for the Federal Highway Administration, and won several awards for her work. She was the first female safety specialist for motor carrier safety.
Linda enjoyed gardening, doing crafts, crocheting, collecting dolls and genealogy.
Survivors include her son, Quinn Taylor of Portland; daughter, Brooke Taylor of Milwaukie, sister, Marsha Reischman of Newport; brother, Ray Smith of the Oregon Coast; and former spouse of Fairview.
